BP20: Business Showcase Presentation
4th September 2019
It's Time to Present what we learnt!
The months have passed really quickly, and without knowing it, we're more than 3 months into this business, and it's finally our turn to share our experience, and what we did in the business.
Generally, I'm glad to have a supportive team of groupmates. Running a business with just 4 people in the group is in itself a very taxing challenge - Most MIE batches (including the next one) would have members of 6-7 people. But I'm glad my group has made it thus far in the journey.
Here are some things we prepared for the event showcase!
The first part was the booth showcase - Our group set up a mini booth to showcase our products, and share a little more about our experience to curious passer-by and Minor in Entrepreneurship (MIE) students. We brought artefacts from our initial prototype session (the mouldy flower design), as well as some of our more recent designs for interested people to have a look at, and find out more about our business.
As the "Tech-guy" here - I also experimented with the lighting - and created a light array powered by a much bigger battery, to ensure the booth and our products are nicely alleviated with the bright, colourful LED Lights. I figured a way to power the LED lights (that are supposed to use 2 CR2032 Batteries) using an external power adaptor, and soldered the components needed for this little light arrangement. Glad that it turned out well!
The Second portion was the formal Presentation. Sindy shared with our audience (the library) our initial plans as well as how we adapted the business to suit the wants of customers and be more competitive against our competitors. Jia Cheng was away, but he recorded the video of him presenting to showcase the challenges and challenges we went through while sourcing for materials (I helped to add in the video to the powerpoint and make it as seamless as possible). Kimmy presented the marketing strategies, while I focused on the Pricing Strategies, as well as sharing the reasons why our group did not make pop-up stores, and the overall financial results.
We also took some questions from the floor.
I hope the experience we have shared would act as a guide for future batches of MIE Students. To these students, Good Luck in your Start-up journey!
I've uploaded more photos of what happened in the business showcase below!
