BP16: A truely Happy National Day?
16th August 2019
In my Last Blog post, I updated that we had just rolled out our contest Giveaway.
Instagram users had to like the post, follow our instagram page and comment "I Love SG" to participate in the contest.
There were a few considerations that I had when designing the Game Mechanics of this Giveaway:
1) By Getting people to tag their friends, we effectively tap on our follower's reach to boost the impressions that we can get from our limited marketing budget. Some followers tagged more than 5 friends for their entry, which makes the contest much more effective!
2) By Getting people to comment and follow our page, it also "weeds out" the intention of our users. Users that follow the page are likely to have a desire to have such a product in their hands, which is great, because at a certain price point, they are likely to purchase the product at some point.
So, How did we fare?
With Just $16 dollars, we achieved 3803 impressions, 122 "Likes" on the instagram contest post, and more than 300 comments following the post. In addition, the instagram insights showed us that it is possible to target both office workers and students with our products, as there was quite a lot of interest from both the youth and young working adults segment (between 18-34).
At the end of the contest, we awarded one of the participants with a terrarium of our choice. Our lucky winner got herself the sakura themed floral terrarium! We created a video to announce the giveaway, to build the suspense among our followers and keep them engaged
When we awarded the gift to the lucky follower, she featured us on our Instagram, and we did the same too (via reposting of insta-stories). #MicroInfluencer Impact Acheived!
But Wait! There's more!
jump on the "hype" as participants watched the video in anticipation for the contest giveaway results, we also attempted to "nudge" our other followers (who didn't win) to purchase our products. There was an additional 10% off available on either shopping platforms when they shop for our products. Within the promotional period, We managed to clinch 1 more purchase from this sale, so, not too bad.
A Slight Morale boost for the team!
Other things we have done since my last post:
- We Also came together to create a customized product for sale to one of our customers!
